And was still half-human (I wish I was making this up. On the positive side, Ninja Theory has said the game isn't considered canon, apparently finally realizing they'd gone too far when they some how messed up the story in a game where the focus is on gameplay).
It never was supposed to be in canon, Capcom did say it was a "retelling" of the origin story since the beginning. I think it's purposeless in my opinion, and I have no idea why Capcom gave a triple A action name to a studios that made a cheap GoW doppelganger and a mediocre adventure game, which still managed to flunk in sales. Oh the beef I have. haha.
The sad part is how the game looks like it could hit a bulls-eye... at the target next to the one they're aiming at (titled "New IP filling the hack and slash gap") or how Capcom's also pushing out the much better looking Asura's Wrath in the same year. You know, the last time Capcom started making a game that ended up too dissimilar to series they were trying to fit it in, they created a new series called Devil May Cry rather than trying to pass it off as still fitting (a la Silent Hill 4). If they're committed to this idea that it has to be Devil May Cry, then call it Ninja Theory's Devil May Cry and get other big hack and slash designers to make their own versions so they can just admit that this is trashy corporate fanfiction while still saving face.
Sadly enough, Capcom made good Zelda games being the third party developer for a big name brand, so I would have thought they would be the ones to see how not to go about this, but somehow this is going to release this year anyways...
Yeah but Capcom in the late 90s/early 2000s has since been restructured, with whatnot Clover Studios (and related) and Inaba breaking off, and although their general agenda has been the same for the past decades, their approaches nowadays is different. I can see why they want to give an old game some steam, I just don't agree with who they've given it to.
what a coincidence, i was watching some devil may cry stuff earlier today (about the new game). what a coincidence... anyway, i like the way you did the highlights in the hair,\; makes it look like there's some volume and form to it
